Former Indian Hockey Team Captain Dhanraj Pillay Brings Home The MG Gloster

Former Indian field hockey team captain Dhanraj Pillay recently brought the MG Gloster SUV to his garage. The images of the delivery were shared recently by the dealership and the car was handed right before the sports legend's 53rd birthday earlier this month. The MG Gloster is the brand's flagship offering in the country is priced from Rs. 29.98 lakh onwards for the Super 4x2 variant, going up to Rs. 36.88 lakh for the top-spec Savvy 4WD variant. All prices are ex-showroom India.

Dhanraj Pillay is one of the most cherished names in the Indian sporting fraternity. He is the only Hockey player to participate in four world cups, Olympic finals, Champions Trophy and the Asian Games. He also played for clubs in countries like France, England, Germany and Malaysia. He was also awarded the Padma Shri by the Indian government in 2000.
While Pillay's exact variant of the MG Gloster is not known, the Agate Red shade on the SUV does look striking. The SUV is the first mass-market offering to come with Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) Level-1. It's powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine with a 6-speed torque converter. The oil burner produces 221 bhp and 360 Nm of peak torque, which goes to the front wheels or all four wheels depending on the variant.
The China-spec MG Gloster is equipped with features such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, three-zone climate control and an eight-inch fully digital instrument console. The model comes with six and seven-seater options, premium leather upholstery, ambient lighting, iSmart connectivity system, 12-way adjustable driver's seat, PM2.5 filter, TPMS, 12.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, panoramic sunroof, seven driving modes, and lots more.

The MG Gloster boasts of level 1 autonomous technology
The MG Gloster SUV impresses with its spacious cabin and a massive length of 4985 mm, 1926 mm in width and 1867 mm in height. The wheelbase measures 2950 mm. It is one of the longest and widest SUVs in the segment competing against the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas G4 and the likes.
