Hyundai Venue: Which Variant To Buy?
We think that the SX is the more value for money trim as it offers almost all bells and whistles you expect on an upmarket subcompact SUV, and you won't really miss having any feature offered on the range-topping SX(O) variant.

Highlights

  • The Hyundai Venue range has been recently updated with new variants.
  • The Hyundai Venue sees the addition of two new variants - S(O) and SX(O)
  • The Hyundai Venue SX Turbo is our pick from the lot

The Hyundai Venue range received an update recently, which is when Hyundai rejigged the Venue line-up in our market. The Korean carmaker has introduced the Hyundai Venue S(O) and SX (O) at around Rs. 6.90 lakh and Rs. 11.75 lakh respectively, all prices ex-showroom, Delhi and has also discontinued few variants as part of the update. So the diesel engine is now only available from the S(O) trim, while previously it was available in the entry-level E and S variants as well. The Hyundai Venue diesel now starts from around Rs. 9.45 lakh as compared to Rs. 8.38 lakh earlier.

The SX(O) variant also get different wheel covers.

Now the Hyundai Venue is offered with three powertrain options and three gearbox options as well. The engines on offer are a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol motor which is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard while a dual-clutch automatic transmission is optional, a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine which is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbo diesel engine which is mated to either a six-speed manual or an automatic torque convertor gearbox. There are now six variants to choose from- E, S, S (O), SX, SX (O). We think that the SX is the more value for money trim as it offers almost all bells and whistles you expect on an upmarket subcompact SUV, and you won't really miss having any feature offered on the range-topping SX(O) variant. The S(O) variant feels a bit skimmed off on creature comforts while the E,S variants miss out on the sportier 1.0-litre turbo motor and get only the 1.2-litre petrol or 1.5-litre diesel engines.
