When it comes to powertrain, the new Venue, like its predecessor, is offered with two petrol and a diesel engine option. In comparison, the Brezza is offered solely with a petrol engine but with the option for a factory-fitted CNG kit. So, for the sake of conformity, only the petrol variants have been compared.

Brezza's 1.5-litre engine is offered with or without mild-hybrid tech, depending on the variant.

In comparison, the Brezza gets a larger displacement 1.5-litre petrol engine that, while giving it an advantage over the naturally aspirated Venue, doesn’t quite match up to the Venue Turbo. The Brezza also gets mild-hybrid tech on select variants - all automatic variants & ZXi/ZXi+ manuals - which does offer a smidgen more power and torque than the non-hybrid unit.

The Venue Turbo also gets the advantage of additional gear ratios over the Brezza in both manual and automatic guise.

Venue's turbo-petrol mill gives it a notable performance advantage; Turbo DCT's claimed mileage is similar to the Brezza AT mild-hybrid.

In terms of mileage, the Venue turbo-petrol DCT is the most efficient on paper, followed closely by the mild-hybrid variants of the Brezza. The non-mild-hybrid variants of the Brezza offer the lowest claimed mileage figures.

New Venue is tech-loaded in a fully-loaded guise - dual 12.3-inch displays, connected car tech, ventilated seats and more.

In comparison, the only standout feature on the Brezza is the presence of a head-up display in the ZXi+ variant and the steering adjusting for both height and reach, compared to just height in the Venue. The Brezza also gets a smaller 9.0-inch touchscreen to the Venue’s 12.3-inch display and a more basic analogue gauge cluster.
New Venue ADAS features

A key safety advantage over the Brezza is the presence of Level 2 ADAS tech in the Venue - up from Level 1 tech in the first-gen model.

Features such as an electric sunroof, auto climate control, rear AC vents, auto LED headlamps, a height-adjustable driver seat, wireless smartphone integration, wireless smartphone charger, type C charging points (Brezza offers Type A as well), connected car tech, rear wiper & washer, 6 airbags, ABS, ESP, hill start assist, keyless entry & go and leatherette upholstery are all common to both vehicles.

Even in base trim, the Venue seems to have a bit of a leg up on the Brezza, offering bits such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, projector headlamps, digital instrument cluster and Type C charging points in the rear cabin. The base Brezza in comparison, gets a rear centre armrest as standard - available from higher trims in the Venue, no audio system head unit and simpler bi-halogen headlamps.

Petrol ATRs 10.67 - 14.56 lakhRs 10.60 - 12.86 lakh

Coming to the pricing, the Venue has a clear advantage of a lower starting price, likely due to excise benefits of falling in the subcompact category with its sub 1,200 cc engine and sub 4m length. The Brezza, due to its engine displacing over 1,200 cc fails to qualify for these benefits.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Brezza

Brezza has the higher starting price but top variants are more affordable than the Venue.

On the higher end of the spectrum, the Brezza has the lower price for the top manual variant. What should be noted is that the top-spec Veue HX10 is only offered with an automatic gearbox, meaning buyers of the manual will have to settle for the HX8 trim level at best. The 1.2-litre petrol additionally tops out in the mid-spec HX6T trim.

The Brezza’s pricing advantage becomes more notable in the top automatic variants, though the Hyundai does offer a lot more bang for your buck in terms of feel-good features and safety tech.
