Maruti Suzuki e Vitara India Launch On December 2

- Will be retailed via Maruti's Nexa chain
- Expected to be offered with two battery options
- Will go up against the Hyundai Creta Electric
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be launched in India on December 2, 2025. Unveiled globally last year, the e Vitara made its India debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Incidentally, India is also a production hub for the electric SUV, which is currently being rolled out from Maruti’s Gujarat facility since late August, with units currently being shipped to Europe.

The e Vitara derives its design from the Maruti Suzuki EVX concept, with much of the concept car’s design mankind its way to the production vehicle. The SUV gets angular headlamp clusters with Y-shaped DRLs, while also featuring extensive use of cladding around the wheel arches, front and rear bumpers, and on the lower side of the doors. Connected tail lamps have also been provided, which resemble the ones seen on the EVX concept.

Inside the cabin, the e Vitara brings a fresh cabin design not shared with any other Maruti model. The dashboard features a pair of free-standing displays housed within a common bezel up top, with a thick swath of soft-touch material also used on the fascia. A small row of physical buttons sits nestled between the central air-con vents, and there is a rotary gear selector in place of a traditional lever.
On the feature front, the e Vitara in global markets comes with tech such as ADAS, auto-dimming inner rear-view mirror, telescopic steering wheel, 10.25-inch digital instruments display, 10.1-inch infotainment display, ambient lighting, four speakers and keyless entry and start as standard with top variants adding in bits such as 19-inch wheels, 10-way powered driver’s seat, Infinity sound system, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, fog lights and 360-degree cameras.

It remains to be seen how the India-spec e Vitara could be specced, though we expect a majority of the features to make their way into the SUV, depending on the variant.

On the powertrain front, the e Vitara for India is likely to be offered with both battery pack options - 49 kWh and 61 kWh, with the latter likely to be limited to top variants. Front-wheel drive is standard with a 142 bhp and 192.5 Nm motor integrated into the front axle in the lower-spec models. Higher variants get a stronger 172 bhp on tap. An AWD variant is also offered in global markets, though it remains to be seen if it will make its way to India. As for range, the e Vitara has a WLTP range of up to 428 km depending on the variant.
When launched, the e Vitara will go up against the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric and Mahindra BE 6 in the Indian market. The electric SUV will go on sale via Maruti's Nexa dealership chain.
