Maruti Suzuki's Production Increases By 3 Per Cent In July 2021

- Maruti Suzuki's production in July stood at 170,719 units, 3% Growth
- Production of Alto and S-Presso stood at 24,899 units in July 2021
- Production of B-segment cars stood at 40,094 units in July 2021
Maruti Suzuki India announced that its production in July 2021 stood at 170,719 units, a three per cent drop compared to 165,576 units produced in June 2021. Compared to 107,687 units produced in July 2020, the Indo-Japanese carmaker recorded a Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) growth of over 58 per cent. In a regulatory filing, Maruti Suzuki said, "While the number of vehicles manufactured in July'21 is higher than that of July'20, a comparison is not meaningful because July'20 had a much lower base due to pandemic related disruptions."

Production of the B-segment cars increased to 90,604 units in July, as against 89,996 units produced in June 2021.
Production of entry-level cars including the Maruti Suzuki Alto and the S-Presso stood at 24,899 units last month as against 26,316 units in June this year. The carmaker produced 20,638 units of entry-level cars in July 2020. Production of the B-segment cars such as the Celerio, WagonR, Swift, Ignis, Baleno, and Dzire, marginally increased to 90,604 units in July, as against 89,996 units produced in June 2021. During the same period last year, the company produced 55,390 units of B-segment cars.
At the same time, production of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz increased to 2,311 units last month, as compared to 1,166 units in June 2021. Production of the mid-size sedan stood at 1,479 units in the corresponding month last year.

Production of Maruti Suzuki's utility vehicles stood at 40,094 units in July 2021
As far as Maruti Suzuki's utility vehicles are concerned, the production of cars such as the Vitara Brezza, Gypsy, Ertiga, S-Cross, and the XL6 increased to 40,094 units last month, as compared to 35,917 units in June this year. The carmaker produced 9,917 units of the Eeco van in July 2021 as compared to 9,672 units manufactured in June 2021. Moreover, production of the Super Carry light commercial vehicle stood at 2,894 units in July, which increased by 13.9 per cent when compared to 2,539 units produced in June 2021.
