Maruti Suzuki's Upcoming Cars in India In 2017-18

- Maruti Suzuki's next launch will be the Celerio X cross-hatchback
- The Ciaz facelift and Vitara Brezza petrol are also part of the list
- The new generation Maruti Suzuki Swift will go on sale in India next year
Maruti Suzuki has an illustrious line-up of cars already and the company is lining up a lot more offerings in the coming months. With back-to-back launches of new and updated models, the company has no plans of slowing down and will diversify into more segments as it aims to sell over 2 million cars by 2020. This, despite the fact that products like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Vitara Brezza command a high waiting period. While we've got some very interesting offerings this year including the Ignis, Dzire and S-Cross facelift, the coming months will see the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio X, Ciaz facelift and the much awaited new generation Swift coming to India. Here's a list of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki cars that you should wait for.
1. Maruti Suzuki Celerio X

After introducing the refreshed Celerio recently, Maruti Suzuki is now gearing up to introduce the Celerio X - a crossover-style model based on the standard hatchback. The Maruti Suzuki Celerio X is the more rugged cousin of the regular model and gets cosmetic updates for a more off-road ready appeal. Part of the changes will be an increased ground clearance of 120 mm, while the dimensions have seen a slight revision as well.
The Celerio X gets a new black grille, smoked headlamps, black plastic panels on the bumper and circular foglamps. It also gets black underbody plastic cladding, black ORVMs with integrated turn lights, black roof rails, 14-inch alloy wheels and a faux diffuser. Inside, there are new black seat covers, adjustable driver's seat, steering mounted controls, keyless entry and more. The car will come wiht the driver side airbag as standard on trims. The Celerio X will primarily come in four variants - VXI, VXI AMT, ZXI and ZXI AMT, while power will continue to come from the 1-litre petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual and AMT options.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio X Rivals: Tata Tiago
Expected Launch: Diwali 2017
Expected Price: Rs. 4 lakh - Rs. 6 lakh
2. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift
(The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift (Suzuki Alivio Pro) introduced in China earlier this year)
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has been the segment leader for the past few months and though it did receive some grief from the new-gen Honda City, the Ciaz got back into the game. But, considering that the Honda City has just received a facelift, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up its contender in the form of the Ciaz facelift. First launched in 2014, the Ciaz will be receiving significant changes over the outgoing version, but do not expect major updates to the design or powertrain of the model. Instead, the sedan will see premium touches being added to the exterior and interior.
The 2017 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift is expected to get a revised grille and alloy wheels, new daytime running lights, revised headlamp and tail light cluster as part of the changes. A sunroof is also expected to be added to the ensemble. The interior will also see a more premium appearance while the feature list is likely to remain the same, albeit some new additions. Powertrain options will include the 1.4 litre K-Series petrol and 1.3 litre DDiS diesel engines with the latter getting the mild-hybrid SHVS system.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Rivals: Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Volkswagen Vento
Expected Launch: 2018
Expected Price: Rs. 8 lakh - Rs. 12 lakh
3. New Gen Maruti Suzuki Swift
(The new gen Maruti Suzuki Swift will make its India debut at the 2018 Auto Expo)
The next-gen Swift is all set to make its mark in India but it'll come in 2018, we are told. The car made its global premiere in Japan followed by a debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The new-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift will come sporting a myriad of changes both outside and inside. Built on the modified B-Platform, Suzuki calls this one HEARTECT. There are a ton of changes already made to the car and overall looks are now sporty and peppy and Maruti Suzuki has a clear idea what its target audience is going to be.
The changes to the cabin too make a world of difference with the Swift getting a flat-bottomed steering wheel along with a touchscreen infotainment system that we've seen in Nexa cars - Baleno and Igins. On the engine front, we expect a refined version of the current model's 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engines in India while the 1.0 litre Boosterjet petrol engine cannot be ruled out. There will also be the SHVS (mild hybrid system) up for grabs and this will make for an interesting addition. For transmission, Maruti Suzuki will reportedly add an AMT in the mix this time.
Maruti Suzuki Swift Rivals: Hyundai Grand i10, Honda Brio, Ford Figo
Expected Launch: February 2018
Expected Price: Rs. 5 lakh - Rs. 7 lakh
4. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Petrol
(The Maruti Suzuki is currently available with a diesel heart only)
Spurred on by Vitara Brezza's success, Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch a petrol variant of the same by April 2017. The Vitara Brezza was currently only available in the diesel guise and priced between Rs. 7.19 lakh to Rs. 9.88 lakh (ex-showrroom Delhi). The introduction of the petrol variant will not only make the Vitara Brezza more accessible but also provide the customers with an encompassing choice. It's likely that the AMT will also be introduced and we wait to hear more about it from the carmaker soon.
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Rivals: Mahindra TUV 300, Ford EcoSport, Honda WR-V
Expected Launch: 2018
Expected Price: Rs. 6.5 lakh - Rs. 8 lakh
