MG Astor Compact SUV Teased Ahead Of Launch

MG Motor India today teased its next offering in the country. It's another SUV from the company and this one's called Astor. While we don't get to see the entire SUV, the front tells us a lot. According to the company the new grille takes inspiration from ‘cosmic lines and forms'; so, it's not very clear but yes, it does a little different from what we've seen from MG Motor India and that truly excites us.
The radial pattern on the front grille grabs your attention instantly and the tungsten steel electroplated material used gives it a bling factor. The contrast of light and dark further highlights the three-dimensional effect of each flashing cell. The name Astor is derived from Raytheon Sentinel, a Bombardier Global Express modified for the Royal Air Force, UK. The SUV will get integrated with AI personal assistant and Level 2 Autonomous Technology.

The Autonomous Level 2 MG Astor is powered by mid-range radars and a multi-purpose camera that can realize a series of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). It includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Departure Prevention, Intelligent Headlamp Control (IHC), Rear Drive Assist (RDA) and Speed Assist System amongst others. These functions can significantly improve driving safety and comfort, and they have been further optimized for Indian traffic conditions.
While the cabin of the car has not been revealed yet, the British automaker also revealed the unique ‘Dual Tone Sangria Red' interior of Astor, which is one of the three interior themes. We will know more about the car in the coming weeks as MG gears up for the launch in the country.
