MG Motor (Morris Garages) has a legacy in the auto world and some of its creations from the 1920s, '30s and '40s still grace the Indian roads during vintage car rallies and drives. As the British carmaker, now owned by Chinese giant SAIC, plans to make its way in the Indian market, the Morris Garages has announced a new initiative to re-connect with MG classic car owners in the country. The brand believes that these vintage car owners are its 'true and first ambassadors' and will help grow the company, as it sets shop in India.

As part of the initiative, vintage MG car owners and restorers of the car need to connect with MG Motor and the company will host them for various experiential events being planned to promote the brand.  The car maker says that a number of owners have already connected with the brand. If you do have an MG parked in your garage, you can hit MG Motor's Facebook page and register with the company.

While the initiative will give a glimpse of the brand's illustrious line-up of stunning convertibles and two-door coupes and its British origins;  MG Motor has now transformed into a modern brand with some new-age products. Some of the models expected to be launched in India include the ZS and GS SUVs as well as the MG 3 hatchback.

The company will be making its official debut at the upcoming Auto Expo and is expected to showcase a host of products as well. This will include hatchbacks and SUVs that will be manufactured at the company's Halol facility in Gujarat. Bought from GM last year, the revamped plant will have an initial production capacity of 80,000 units per annum in its first phase.
