Entry-Level Variants

Tata Motors has been extremely aggressive on the Nexon's pricing. The base XE diesel costs Rs. 6.85 lakh, which is about Rs. 39,000 cheaper than the base Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza LDi, and around Rs. 52,000 more affordable over the LDi (O) that gets ABS and airbags as standard. It is to be noted that the Nexon comes with the safety features as standard on all variants. The Nexon also gets a price advantage over the Mahindra TUV300 that starts at Rs. 7.68 lakh (all-prices, ex-showroom Delhi) for the base T4 trim, which is a good Rs. 83,000 more expensive than the Nexon.

Mid Variants

The Nexon continues to remain aggressive in its pricing in the mid variants as well with the XM trim priced at Rs. 7.34 lakh, which is about Rs. 43,000 cheaper than the Brezza VDi. The Nexon XM is also cheaper by Rs. 1 lakh over the Mahindra TUV T6 trim. However, the more expensive Nexon XT trim packs in more features on Tata's subcompact SUV, whilst reducing the price difference. The XT is priced at Rs. 8.15 lakh, which is more expensive than the VDi and VDi (O), but is still cheaper than the Rs. 8.60 lakh sticker price on the TUV300 T6+.

All three manufacturers offer two top variants with a slight difference in terms of features. The Tata Nexon loses its price advantage here and turns out to be on-par and at times more expensive than its rivals. The Nexon XZ+ is priced at Rs. 9.30 lakh, which is Rs. 60,000 cheaper than the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza ZDi. Meanwhile, the Nexon XZ+ dual-tone is around Rs. 24,000 over the ZDi+. Comparing it with the TUV, the T8 mHawk80 is Rs. 8000 cheaper than the Nexon XZ, while the T8 mHawk100 is offered at the same price as the XZ trim. Same is the case with the XZ+ dual-tone and T8 mHawk100 dual-tone, with both models priced at Rs. 9.44 lakh.
