Tyres: All You Need To Know About Them

- Winter tires are made with the help of walnut shells!
- Some tires are very costly even more, expensive than the car itself.
- Several lines on tire treads are very noticeable; these are known as "s
Several steps are completed simultaneously before any new tire hits the market. The tyres need to be manufactured so that they do not wear out easily while traveling through all kinds of terrains. They must have a good drip and provide good value for money. A lot of planning goes into making the tyres as perfect as possible. Research and testing are key components for tire production.

Selection of ingredients
The first and pretty crucial step is selecting the right material needed for making the tyres. Several types of rubber are managed along with special oils, carbon black, pigments, antioxidants, silica, and other additives needed in the process.
Working out the chemistry
The characteristics of the polymer in use are concocted in the laboratory by scientists. Apart from testing the mixtures of compounds, work is also done on other parts (like the carcass, belts, sidewall, bead, circle, etc.). This research is necessary to ensure that the manufacturers have the edge over others.

Initial tests
After the new compounds have been mixed and molded, the initial tests are done. Appropriate tools are used to test various aspects of the tire – mechanic resistance, longevity, adherence, and durability.
Computer simulations and tests
With various computer simulations, the tire tread's structure, profile, and overall design are defined. Several prototypes are produced that are shifted to the test bench to evaluate what kind of behavior the new tyres are showing. The test on the drift machine is one of the essential parts of the manufacturing process as it tests the cornering performance.
First tests on the track
After the test results come back from the lab, various refinements that have been suggested are carried out for the new tyres. Then, the tire is taken out on the track. Several necessary tests are done to detail various aspects of the performance of the tires – braking performance, ease of driving in wet conditions, tire noise, etc. These are compared to previous models of the tires, and thus, the evaluations are made accordingly.

Convincing the automobile manufacturers
After the entire tire is almost complete, the automakers suggest using these tyres as “original equipment.” There are different requirements for different manufacturers, which is why the testers should be very thorough with their evaluation. They are responsible for guiding the whole process and letting the manufacturers know what kind of tires they need.
Several components are worked on simultaneously in a tyre to deliver the comfortable riding experience which you always crave for.
