Toyota Rumion MPV Breaks Cover
Highlights
- The Toyota Rumion is a cross-badged version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
- It looks identical to the Ertiga, save for the new grille and Toyota logo
- It also borrows creature comforts and drivetrain options from the Ertiga.
After the Maruti Suzuki dubbed Toyota Glanza and Vitara Brezza dubbed Urban Cruiser, Toyota is all set to give the Ertiga the cross-badge treatment. The new Toyota Rumion has been unveiled in South Africa and it is essentially a re-badged version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Quite obviously, it looks near identical to the Ertiga save for cosmetic updates like the new grille and Toyota badging. Now it's not for the first time Toyota has used the Rumion name, in fact, one of Toyota's rebadged Suzuki models have used the same badge in the past as well.

The new Toyota Belta is expected to go on sale in India by the end of this year, being a replacement for the Toyota Yaris compact sedan in India. The second-gen Maruti Suzuki Ertiga was launched in India in 2018 and is due for a facelift next year. Toyota is likely to launch the facelifted version of the Ertiga based Rumion in India in 2022.

As far as mechanicals go, the model is again expected to be identical.
