Hyundai Creta is one of the most popular compact SUVs in India.
At launch, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder goes up against a plethora of compact SUVs in the Indian market. Not just that, there are also a few mid-size SUVs in the price range too. Starting off with the compact SUVs, Hyryder faces tough competition from the likes of the Korean twins, the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos. Both the SUVs are very popular, and are rich in comfort and features. They also score high in practicality as they're big on space.
Kia Seltos set the tone for the brand in India, and is its best-selling model.
Volkswagen Taigun & Skoda Kushaq:

The compact SUVs are half a size smaller than their rivals, but bet them in many aspects, like luxury and driver engagement.
The Skoda Kushaq is also underpinned by the highly localised MQB-A0-IN platform.
Tata Harrier:
Then there's the only compact SUV from an Indian manufacturer on sale currently, the Tata Harrier. The Harrier packs a lot of performance and is larger, compared to the other compact SUVs. It also has a lot of features on offer, and comes with a tank-like built quality, which also propelled the car to a 5-star Global NCAP crash test score, making it one of the safest cars in India.

MG Hector:
The MG Hector has an imposing stance, and that is something that caught the eyes of a lot of the Indian consumers. It grabbed a decent of market share at launch, and set the tone for the MG brand in India. The compact SUV is offered in multiple variants, but come with a single engine option.

Mahindra XUV700 & Mahindra Scorpio-N:
Coming to the mid-size SUVs, the two most popular models on sale right now are the Mahindra XUV700 and Scorpio-N. The biggest drawback of the two Mahindra SUVs though, is the waiting period, as both have over one lakh pending deliveries.
