Two-Wheeler Sales August 2022: Honda 2 Wheeler Reports Cumulative Sales Of Over 4.62 lakh

- Cumulative sales up 7% year-on-year in August 2022
- Exports grow 30% year-on-year
- Cumulative sales grew 5% over July 2022
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India reported a cumulative sales growth of 7% year-on-year in August 2022. The company recorded cumulative sales of 4,62,523 units last month, up from 4,31,594 units in August 2021. Compared to July 2022, domestic sales too were up 5% month-on-month with 4,23,216 units sold in India in August as against 4,02,701 units.
Commenting on the upward market movement, Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “Market performance is gaining steady momentum against previous month as well as year-on-year basis. Welcoming the festive season with an exciting range of products across verticals, we are confident that the celebrations will be amplified further with attractive finance schemes available across our various touchpoints.”

Exports for the month of August meanwhile stood at 39,307 units – up 30% year-on-year. Compared to July though, exports in August were marginally down with the company having shipped 40,942 units in the former month.
Interestingly for the month, Honda was within a touching distance of Hero MotoCorp in terms of overall sales with the two companies separated by less than 100 units. Hero though had notably performed better in domestic sales, retailing over 4.50 lakh units compared to Honda’s 4.31 lakh units.
