Yamaha Shines With a Growth of 66 per Cent in Its Sales in April, 2016

- Yamaha makes solid improvement in its sales in the last one year
- The total sales growth is 66 per cent
- Expansion in tier II and tier III cities deemed the reason of success
Yamaha has registered a growth of a whopping 66 per cent in the past 12 months. The company sold 63,927 units in April 2016 against 38,568 units same time last year. Yamaha has attributed the same to an increasing focus on expansion in tier II and tier III cities. The company has also been engaging in a variety of customer centric activities. The Fascino and the FZ series did well for Yamaha in the last one year.
Roy Kurian, the VP, sales & marketing, said that the Fascino is doing extremely well and with the launch of Cygnus Ray-ZR, Yamaha is looking forward to augment its hold in the scooter segment by targeting to grab a 10 per cent share by the end of 2016. It also launched the Saluto RX in April, targeting the premium commuter segment as well with a claimed efficiency of 82kmpl. The deliveries for the MT-09 will also be starting next month onwards. Up next on the cards in the MT-03, which is essentially a naked, stripped down version of the YZF R3. The Japanese manufacturer also opened a spare parts centre in Tamil Nadu which had a total investment of Rs 580 million. The centre will cater to the spare parts need across Southern India. It is spread over an area of 30,000 sq. mts. Yamaha currently has 20 spare parts distributors and 3,000 spare parts retailers across the country.
