Tata Motors is all set to officially unveil the 2021 Tigor EV on August 18. The upcoming electric subcompact sedan will come with an updated styling, new features, and it will be equipped with the company's Ziptron EV powertrain technology. Tata has already revealed the updated version of the Tigor EV for the fleet segment, which has been renamed at X-Pres-T EV. Electric Powertrain & Range

We expect the Tigor EV to get the same 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that powers the Nexon EV
Tata had already confirmed that all-electric vehicles with Ziptron powertrain technology will come with a Lithium-Ion battery with IP-67 certification and an 8-years warranty. Also, all Ziptron powered EVs will come with a range of above 250 km on a single charge. Thus, we expect the Tigor EV to get the same 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that powers the Nexon EV, along with a new Permanent Magnet Synchronous electric motor. Expect the Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) figures to breach the 300 km mark, while the real figure could be between 200-250 km on a single charge.

The car will also get a new bumper with wider intakes. As for exterior features, the Tigor EV will get projector headlights, and new horizontal fog lamps with integrated LED daytime running lamps. The car will also get new alloy wheels with more blue accents and revised taillamps.

Cabin & Safety Features
While we do not know what the interior will look like, the basic layout will remain the same, featuring few styling upgrades, more blue accent and better fit and finish. The cabin is also expected to get premium features like a touchscreen infotainment system, multi-functional steering wheel and more premium upholstery. Tata might also offer its iRA connected car tech along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In terms of safety features, the car is expected to get all the necessary safety bits like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, options rear parking camera, seat belt reminder and more.

We expect the prices for the Tata Tigor EV to start around Rs. 10 lakh, going up to Rs. 14 lakh (ex-showroom)
Price & Variants
Now the Tata Nexon EV was introduced in only three variants - XM, XZ+ and XZ+ LUX. Thus, we expect the new Tigor EV for private car buyers to be offered in a similar number of trims. In terms of pricing, we expect the prices to start around Rs. 10 lakh, going up to Rs. 14 lakh (ex-showroom).
