The festival of karwa chauth is auspicious to Hindus in northern India. The wives observe fast for the longevity of their husbands' lives, and this is a good chance for the husbands to show their appreciation. On this year's karwa chauth, actor Govinda was certainly 'Husband No. 1' as he gifted his wife Sunita Ahuja, the BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine. The actor shared pictures of his new possession on social media along with a caption dedicated to his wife.

The BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine was introduced in India earlier this year and is the long-wheelbase version of the popular luxury sedan, specific to the Indian market. It liberates more room in the cabin especially for the rear passengers, while the suspension has been tuned towards comfort over the standard 3 Series. The 3 Series GL replaced the 3 Series GT that was previously on sale in India.
The BMW 3 Series GL gets a 110 mm longer wheelbase compared to the standard car. The wheelbase measures 2,961 mm, while the overall length has also gone up by 110 mm to 4,819 mm. It's also 28 mm taller than the standard model. This brings 43 mm of extra legroom at the rear. All other features have been carried over including the 12.3-inch instrument cluster and the 10.25-inch screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There's also wireless charging, air purifier, three-zone climate control, connected car tech, a 16-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system and a panoramic sunroof.

Power on the BMW 3 Series GL comes from the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, twin-turbo petrol and diesel engines that churn out 254 bhp and 187 bhp respectively. Both engines belt out 400 Nm of peak torque and are paired with 8-speed automatic transmission. Prices for the BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine start at Rs. 52.50 lakh for the 330 Li Luxury Line, going up to Rs. 53.90 lakh for the 320 Ld Luxury Line and 330 Li M Sport Pro. All prices are ex-showroom.

Meanwhile, the BMW 3 Series GL will find space in Govinda's garage alongside the MINI Clubman among other cars. The actor also has a previous generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Toyota Fortuner, and the Hyundai Creta. The Kill Dil actor also previously owned the Ford Endeavour and Mitsubishi Lancer.
