- The S 680 4MATIC gets a 6.0-litre V12 motor making 604 bhp & 900 Nm

The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class went on sale in India earlier this year and quickly became the favoured choice for many celebrities. And the latest star to join this list is actor and producer Kangana Ranaut, who recently took delivery of her newest prized possession. The timing couldn't have been better either as Renaut's new movie Dhaakad releases in theatres this weekend. The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is offered in India in two variants - S 580 and S 680 4MATIC. And Ranaut has really spent the big bucks to get the top-spec S 680 4MATIC worth Rs. 3.2 crore (ex-showroom, India). The model arrives in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) as opposed to the locally assembled S580.

The new-generation Mercedes-Maybach S-Class gets a 180 mm longer wheelbase with the extra length going towards more legroom at the rear. At nearly 5.5 metres in length, the S-Class gets a striking road presence, and the extra-long rear doors are electrically operable so you don't have to put physical effort to close the door. There's also the doormen feature that allows the driver to remotely close the rear doors from the front seat. The S-Class Maybach S 680 also comes with individually adjustable bucket seats as standard that can be adjusted between 19 and 44 degrees. There's also a deployable leg rest on the passenger side.
But what really set the S 680 4MATIC apart is its 6.0-litre V12 motor that develops 604 bhp and 900 Nm of peak torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via AWD while 0-100 kmph comes up in 4.5 seconds. The top speed is limited to 250 kmph. The new S-Class Maybach is the first car in India to get Level 2 Autonomous Driving with Evasive Steering Assist and Active Brake Assist with cross-traffic function. The car also gets 13 airbags with two belt bags and rear airbags, optional rear-axle steering, and the Airmatic air suspension.
On the feature front, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class S 680 gets multi-contour massage for every seat, heated armrests, door panels, seat ventilation, and even a calf massager on the rear seat footrest. The limousine packs the latest tech that includes the new-generation MBUX infotainment system with a 12.8-inch display at the front and centre and a 12.3-inch digital instrument console. There are two 11.6-inch rear-seat entertainment screens and a removable tablet between the rear seats. There's also Nappa leather upholstery and a Burmester sound system. Visually, the S 680 gets the distinctive Maybach grille, the Maybach logo on the C-pillar, as well as 19-inch monobloc wheels. Kangana Ranaut's car gets an all-black paint scheme, while Mercedes-Benz does offer the signature Maybach dual-tone paint scheme as an option.
