"The Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary, while staying true to the Panigale V2's roots, pays homage to the legendary Troy Bayliss with a special and distinctive livery reminiscent of Troy's Ducati 996 R that led him to his first win," said Ducati India Managing Director Bipul Chandra.

Each motorcycle bears Bayliss' reproduced signature
The homage comes in the form of a livery inspired from Bayliss championship winning 996 R. The special edition Panigale V2 is finished in red with splashes of white and green thrown in and the number 21 emblazoned on the side fairing, nose and embroidered into the seat. Additionally the fuel tank bears Bayliss' reproduced signature while each limited edition bike will also carry its production serial number.

Changes though are not just limited to cosmetics. The standard Panigale V4's Showa front and Sachs rear suspension set-up is replaced by Ohlins units. The Troy Bayliss edition sits on a NX30 front fork and TTX36 rear shock said to offer more precise handling and greater feel. The special edition V2 is also lighter owing to a new Lithium-Ion battery.

The engine though remains unchanged from the regular Panigale V2. You get the same 955cc Superquadro twin-cylinder engine that puts out 155hp at 10,750rpm and 104Nm of peak torque at 9000rpm. As with the standard Panigale V2, the Troy Bayliss edition comes with a host of electronics including cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control and three ride modes - Race, Sport and Street.
