Kawasaki says the new Ninja H2 SX has been designed for real-world applications rather than outright performance. The 998 cc in-line four-cylinder supercharged engine makes 199 bhp and has been developed for everyday riding situations offering stronger output than the H2 in the low and mid-range. The fuel efficiency has also improved on the Ninja H2 SX. Kawasaki has managed to make the new offering versatile for long distance riding, while also making it easy to manage at low speeds.

That said, the new Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX weighs about 18 kg more than the standard H2, while the power-to-weight ratio is said to be between that of the Ninja H2 and Ninja ZX-14R. The bike comes loaded with a host of touring friendly features including an inertial measurement unit (IMU) that has helped add cornering ABS, three-level traction control along with cruise control as standard. The Ninja H2-derived Trellis frame continues to underpin the H2 SX and can easily accommodate a pillion rider and luggage.
