Hero MotoCorp Launches COVID-19 Vaccination Drive In Haridwar, Uttarakhand

- Hero MotoCorp launches vaccination drive in Haridwar
- 10,000 doses of vaccination will be administered to the general populace

Hero MotoCorp, the world's largest manufacturer of two-wheelers, has partnered with the district administration in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, to administer 10,000 doses of vaccines in a phased manner for the general populace of the town. Additionally, the company has also taken an initiative to provide two mobile vans - equipped with facilities such as wheelchair, stretcher and refreshment packets, etc. for mobilising specially-abled people to visit nearest health centres to get vaccinated. The vaccination drive was launched under Hero' corporate social responsibility (CSR) platform, 'Hero We Care'.

Hero MotoCorp commenced the first phase of the vaccination drive for the public at the company's manufacturing plant in Haridwar, which will be followed by another camp at Rawali Mahdood. The vaccination initiative will cover both shots of the COVID-19 vaccine in phases as defined by health authorities and will be implemented as per the guidelines prescribed by the government.

Last month, Hero MotoCorp helped create a 50-bed COVID-19 ward at Delhi's Janakpuri Super Specialty hospital. The initiative was undertaken as part of Hero's CSR relief measures towards fighting COVID-19. Hero MotoCorp partnered with the 'People-to-People Health Foundation'. The ward was inaugurated by Satyendar Jain, Hon'ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Delhi.

In April 2021, when the pandemic was at its peak, Hero MotoCorp partnered with Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Kankhal in Haridwar, Uttarakhand to bolster the town's healthcare system and response to COVID-19. The company supported the healthcare infrastructure of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama to boost the capacity of rapid-response teams and other emergency medical facilities. It also helped the Mission to deploy an immediate health preparedness plan to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus in Haridwar.
