The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV Concept provides a preview of the first all-electric SUV in the luxury segment. It gets a traditional SUV shape with signature Maybach details. The SUV sports a bold front fascia underlined by a fully enclosed grille with vertical Maybach pinstripes mimicking a grille. The setup is flanked by sleek LED headlights featuring diamond blocks framed with a fine-knit mesh of the Maybach emblem. Chrome-plated louvres are also found on the air intake in the bumper.
Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer Daimler Group: "With the Concept Mercedes-Maybach EQS, we're transforming the brand into an electric future after 100 years. The futuristic design consists of an emotional integration of surfaces and shapes. The front, with its progressive Maybach grille, follows the principle of integration and gives the brand a completely new appearance. In conjunction with the new-style aerodynamic SUV proportions, we're completely redefining the luxury SUV of the future."
The concept dons the brand's signature two-tone paint finish in obsidian black metallic and zircon red metallic with a fine pinstripe in chrome as a visual dividing line. The B-pillars are also chrome plated and have been exclusively finished with a subtle brand emblem pattern. The Maybach 'M' can also be found on the D-pillar. It rides on 24-inch alloy wheels with the signature Maybach 'bowl' design. At the rear, the SUV features a continuous helix light strip with animation that runs from the outside in.

On the inside, the cabin of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV Concept is as stylish as the exterior promising luxurious travel. It comes with the futuristic steering wheel, floating centre console, white and dark blue leather upholstery with rose gold accents, white piano lacquer trim, faux fur floor covering and more. Another eye-catcher on the inside is the MBUX Hyperscreen with a Maybach-specific display which includes a 12.3-inch OLED display for the front passenger.
The carmaker was coy about the specifications. However, it did reveal that the concept employs their modular architecture that also serves as the basis for another electric SUV. According to WLTP, ranges of around 600 kilometres are planned for the Mercedes EQS SUV architecture.
