First Kia Carens Rolls Out Of Anantapur Plant

- The Kia Carens is the latest entrant in the MPV segment in India.
- The company started accepting pre-bookings for the Carens on January 14.
- The Kia Carens will be offered in 5 trims and with three engine options.
Kia India has rolled out the first unit of the Carens from its Anantapur manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh. Pre-bookings for the new Kia Carens began on January 14, 2022 for a token amount of Rs. 25,000. The Kia Carens is expected to be launched sometime in February 2022, although the company has not announced a launch date as yet. Kia India received a terrific response for the MPV on the first day when pre-bookings were announced. It bagged a whopping 7,738 pre-bookings within just 24 hours since the window opened and likely it has been building up on the demand.

The Kia Carens will be offered in five variants.

Kia Carens will be offered in five trim levels - Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus; in both six-seater and seven-seater configurations. Powering the Kia Carens MPV will be two petrol and one diesel engine option. First up is the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, then comes the 1.4-litre, four-cylinder turbo petrol motor, and finally there is the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel mill. Transmission is handled by a six-speed manual gearbox as standard while a seven-speed DCT will be offered as optional with the 1.4 Turbo engine option and a six-speed torque converter is optional on the diesel iteration.
