MG Motor India Begins Exporting The Hector SUV To Nepal

- The Hector has become the 1st MG car to be exported from India to Nepal

MG Motor India has announced commencing exports to Nepal from its production facility in Halol, Gujarat. The company's top-selling model, the MG Hector SUV has become the first product from the brand that will be exported from India to Nepal. MG Motor India says this is the first step towards its expansion plan of exporting cars to other South Asian countries from India. The sales and service-related activities for the Hector SUV will be taken care of by Paramount Motors Pvt. Ltd., MG's Nepal-based dealer partner.

Speaking on the commencement of exports, Rajeev Chaba, President, and Managing Director, MG Motor India, said, "MG Motor India is constantly progressing its operations, expanding the market reach, stakeholder base, and adding new customers and partners to the MG family. Taking this spirit forward, MG is geared up to expand its footprint across the other South Asian countries starting with Nepal. Hector has played a vital role in establishing our prowess in an Auto industry as dynamic and aggressive as the Indian auto space, and we are looking forward to driving interest in Nepal with the launch of MG Hector."

The Hector comes with the iSmart connected car tech and other premium features that make it a compelling package
The MG Hector was first launched in India in May 2019, and over the last two years, the company has sold over 72,500 units of the SUV in the country. The Hector was also one of the first fully connected vehicles to be launched in India, and it comes with the company's iSmart technology. The system offers a range of connected car features like vehicle tracking, geo-fencing, emergency alert, and much more, plus it also gets over the air (OTA) updates. Other features on offer include LED headlights, LED DRLs, LED taillights, alloy wheels, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger and more.

The MG Hector sold in Nepal will will gets the same engine options as well. In India, the SUV comes with a 141 bhp, 1.5-litre petrol engine that gets the option for a 6-speed manual, 7-speed DCT and a CVT automatic. Additionally, the SUV is also offered with a 168 bhp, 2.0-litre diesel motor which gets a 6-speed manual as standard.
