Petrol, Diesel Prices Hiked Again; Petrol Inches Towards Rs. 101/Litre Mark In Mumbai

The state-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) on Tuesday once again increased domestic fuel prices across the country. As per data available on Indian Oil Corporation's website, petrol became costlier by 26 paise a litre, while diesel soared by 23 paise a litre in the national capital. Customers in Delhi will have to pay Rs. 94.49 a litre and Rs. 85.38 a litre for petrol and diesel, respectively. The fuel rates have been increased for the 17th time since May 4, 2021.

In Mumbai, petrol is slowing inching towards the Rs. 101 per litre mark
Here are the petrol and diesel prices across five major metros on June 1, 2021:

In Mumbai, petrol is inching towards the Rs. 101 per litre mark, which jumped to Rs. 100.72 a litre from Rs. 100.47 a litre, while diesel increased to Rs. 92.69 per litre. Other metro cities witnessed a similar hike in fuel prices. In Chennai, petrol and diesel are priced at Rs. 95.99 a litre and 90.12 a litre, respectively. Customers in Kolkata will now have to pay Rs. 94.50 per litre for petrol and Rs. 88.23 a litre for diesel. In Bengaluru, petrol has reached Rs. 97.64 per litre, while diesel costs Rs. 90.51 per litre.
Fuel prices are the most expensive in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar district where petrol currently stands at Rs. 105.52 per litre, while diesel is priced at Rs. 98.32 per litre. In the Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh, petrol has touched Rs. 104.82 per litre, while diesel is priced at Rs. 95.95 a litre. Other regions where petrol and diesel rates have already crossed the Rs. 100 and Rs. 90 per litre mark, respectively, include - Anuppur, Jaisalmer, Banswara, Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Ratnagiri, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Nashik, and Parbhani.

Customers in Kolkata will now have to pay Rs. 94.50 per litre for petrol and Rs. 88.23 a litre for diesel.
