TVS Apache RTR 160 Race Edition Launched; Prices Start At Rs. 79,715

- The TVS Apache RTR 160 Race Edition gets only cosmetic updates
- The Apache RTR 160 Race Edition is not a limited edition model
- It is based on the previous-generation RTR 160
TVS Motor Company has silently launched a special edition model of RTR 160, no not the recently launched RTR 160 4V, but the standard, previous generation RTR 160. It is called the 'Race Edition' and it will be available in two variants, which are single disc, priced at Rs. 79,715 and the variant with discs at front and rear, which is priced at Rs. 82,044. As the name suggests, the bike gets a white paintjob with red stripes on the fuel tank, the front mudguard and the rear body panel near the grab-rail. There is a new badge on the fuel tank as well. And yes, this is not a limited edition model.
The TVS Apache RTR 160 Race Edition is priced at barely Rs. 1,000 more than the standard RTR 160. Coming to the engine, the Race edition still gets the same engine as on the previous gen 160, which is a 159.7 cc single-cylinder motor that makes around 15 bhp and 13 Nm of peak torque. The gearbox is a five-speed unit.
TVS had launched the new-generation RTR 160 4V in India in March 2018 at a starting price of Rs. 81,490. Being a new-gen model, the RTR 160 4V borrows its design and styling cues from its elder sibling, the RTR 200 4V and also gets a fully updated engine with more power and torque. The brakes, suspension and the frame have been comprehensively updated as well. The Apache RTR 160 has its rivals in the Honda CB Hornet 160R, Suzuki Gixxer and the Yamaha FZ.
