TVS Grows By 20.6 Per Cent In Q2 2016-17

- Its total revenue for the quarter (Apr-Sep 2016) was Rs. 3726.31 crore
- TVS sold a total of 7.95 lakh units including exports for Q2 2016-17
- The first six months of FY 2016-17, TVS had a growth of 16.8 per cent
TVS had a decent Q2 in FY 2016-17 with a growth of 20.6 per cent over the same period last year. Its total revenue for the quarter was Rs. 3726.31 crore for the quarter as opposed to Rs. 3089.42 crore for the quarter ended in September 2015.
TVS declared a profit before tax (PBT) of 234.04 crore for Apr-Sep 2016-17 as opposed to 178.46 crore for the same time frame, last year. The total percentage growth was 31.1 per cent. The profit after tax (PAT) was Rs. 177.39 crore in this quarter as compared to Rs. 132.96 crore last year for the same quarter.
(2016 TVS Victor)As far as sales are concerned, TVS sold a total of 7.95 lakh units including exports as well in comparison to 6.46 lakh units sold in the corresponding time last year, showing a percentage growth of 23.1 per cent. The total motorcycle sales also showed a solid growth of 30.2 per cent to 3.32 lakh units for 2nd quarter of 2016-17. The total sales for motorcycles last year was 2.55 lakh units for the same time frame. The scooter sales too saw an increase with a total of 2.29 lakh units sold as against 2.18 lakh units for Apr-Sep 2015-16, a 5 per cent growth.
Half-Yearly Results
The first six months of FY 2016-17, TVS had a growth of 16.8 per cent, bringing the total 6874.49 crore as compared to Rs. 5887.6 crore for the same period of time, last year. The PBT saw a growth of 27.9 per cent having a figure of Rs.394.86 crore against Rs. 308.81 crore till September 2015, starting April 2015. As far as PAT is concerned, TVS earned Rs. 298.64 crore as against Rs. 233.04 crore for the first six months of FY 2015-16.
(TVS Star City Plus and Sport)The total two-wheeler sales of TVS for the half-year ended September 2016 grew by 19.3 per cent to 14.96 lakh units as against 12.54 lakh units recorded in the half-year ended September 2015. The total motorcycle sales for the first six months of FY 2016-17 also showed a growth of 20.6 per cent to 6.15 lakh units sold. In the same time last year, the sales were 5.10 lakh units. Coming to scooter sales, it grew by 11.2 per cent till September 2016 to 4.26 lakh units as against 3.83 lakh units till September 2015.
