- The new edition adds matte chocolate brown colour and gold alloys
- Power output remains the same from the 109.7cc single-cylinder engine
- The Star City+ rivals the likes of Hero Passion Pro, Yamah Saluto RX
TVS Motor Company has introduced the new Star City+ Chocolate Gold Special Edition, priced at Rs. 49,234 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Hosur-based two-wheeler manufacturer's entry-level 110cc motorcycle gets a special colour scheme finished in matte chocolate brown with gold alloy wheels and new graphics, lending a premium look to the model. In addition to the new special colour option, the Start City+ is available in Matte Titanium Grey edition and the Gold Edition model that was introduced late last year.
Speaking on the new limited edition variant, Arun Siddharth, Head of Marketing, Motorcycles, TVS, said "We're proud to launch the premium, new variant of TVS Star City+ in a captivating combination of gold and Matte Chocolate brown. The new Chocolate Gold Edition leverages the popularity of the matte brown colour while taking the ante of style further up with gold, to provide a stylish yet bold look to the motorcycle. We believe colours are a testament to the rider's personality and play a significant role in the purchase decision. With this new edition, we aim to reach out to the stylish yet pragmatic riders who are looking for a dash of style in their ride experience."
In terms of mechanicals, the TVS Star City+ Chocolate Gold Edition continues with the same tried and tested 109.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, engine that churns out 8.3bhp of power at 7000rpm and 8.7Nm of torque at 5000rpm. The motor is paired to a 4-speed gearbox. In terms of features, the motorcycle gets an analog speedometer with a digital fuel gauge; wider rear tyre than most rivals in the segment and a longer wheelbase. The Star City+ primarily competes with the Hero Passion Pro, Honda Dream Series, the recently launched Yamaha Saluto RX and the likes in the segment.
This is the second limited edition variant to come from TVS this month as the Hosur based bike maker introduced the Scooty Zest Himalayan Highs' Edition to commemorate the scooter's ride to Khardung La Pass by a female rider. The next major launch from TVS is expected to be the Akula RTR 310 full faired sports bike that was showcased as a concept at the 2016 Auto Expo and could make it to the showrooms at early as towards the end of this year. That bike will also be testament to the TVS-BMW venture, TVS producing BMW's smallest capacity engine and the widely anticipated BMW G 310 R.
