Two-Wheeler Sales August 2021: Honda Registers 18 Per Cent Growth

- Honda's domestic sales in August 2021 are over 4 lakh units

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) despatched over 4.3 lakh two-wheelers in August 2021, reflecting a steady recovery in economic activity. Honda Two-Wheelers' total sales in August 2021 stood at 4,30,683 units, out of which domestic two-wheeler sales alone accounted for 4,01,469 two-wheelers. HMSI's two-wheeler exports for the same month was reported at 29,214 units. Domestic two-wheeler sales of Honda registered a growth of 18 per cent, as compared to July 2021, when the company sold 3,84,920 units, with domestic sales of 3,40,420 units, and exports of 44,500 units.

Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Director, Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, expresses cautious optimism about the industry recovering with the onset of the festive season.
Elaborating on the market scenario and August '21 sales trend, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Director, Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, "The month of August ushers the onset of the festival spirit in the country. With a steady month on month recovery in terms of enquiries and customer walk-ins, we are cautiously optimistic moving forward, expecting conversions to retails. Further, we shall be starting deliveries of our recently unveiled motorcycle Honda CB200X in September."

In August 2021, Honda launched the Honda CB200X crossover motorcycle, based on the Honda Hornet 2.0 platform. Built for the urban daily commute, as well as weekend tours, the Honda CB200X has been priced at Rs. 1,44,500 (Ex-showroom, Gurugram). In August, Honda expanded its BigWing network by inaugurating a new outlet in Bhubaneshwar, which is exclusively for the mid-size motorcycle segment. The regular Honda showrooms cater to the mass market offerings, but the BigWing outlets are made exclusively for premium bikes. In July 2021, Honda inaugurated a BigWing outlet in Chandigarh for its mid-size premium motorcycle range, and a BigWing Topline in Chennai for its big bike range.
