Volkswagen T-Roc Unveil Date Announced

- The Volkswagen T-Roc will be unveiled on 23 August, 2017
- It is a compact SUV based on the Volkswagen Golf
- It will get the same engine options as available in the Golf
Volkswagen recently announced that its latest SUV, the T-Roc concept, will finally be premiered on 23 August, 2017. The T-Roc is a compact SUV which is based on the VW Golf hatchback and will also share platforms and components with the upcoming Audi Q2 SUV. The Volkswagen T-Roc was first showcased at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show and was presented as a uber-chic, cool and a sporty compact SUV. The company says that it has tried keep the design and styling of the production version of the SUV as close as possible as to the concept car.

From the official sketches that have been released, it is clear that the company has actually tried to keep the car as close as possible to the original concept car. The sketch reveals that the T-Roc will have a two-door design with a sharp and sleek front grille and big wheels. The T-Roc definitely boasts of compact proportions and intelligent styling.
(Volkswagen T-Roc Sketch)The headlamps are said to be LED units and will integrate into the front grille that runs across the front end of the compact SUV. The wheel-arches are seen to squared to give a muscular look. The T-Roc will be built on Volkswagen's versatile MQB platform and is expected to be around 4.2 metres in length with a wheelbase of 2.6 metres or so. Of course, the official details are yet to be revealed. As far as engine options are concerned, the T-Roc is expected to get the same range of engines which are on offer in the current VW Golf. So there will be a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder Turbo along with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and maybe a couple of diesel engines as well.
Volkswagen will also be live-streaming the entire unveil event as well. The official public debut is expected to be at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, which will be held in September this year.
