The Yamaha Tenere 700 prototype is on an around the world test ride by expert riders on different terrain in the Americas, Australia, Africa and Europe, and has just completed a loop in Morocco. Rally racing legend Stephane Peterhansel piloted the bike through the Moroccan desert on a 600 km loop where the Dakar Rally used to be held till 2007, before it was moved to South America. Peterhansel has won an incredible thirteen Paris to Dakar rallies. The Yamaha Tenere 700 is the much-awaited middleweight adventure bike from Yamaha which was showcased as the Yamaha 700 World Raid concept at the EICMA 2017 show in Italy last year, and a year before that, as the Yamaha T7 concept. The Tenere 700 is based on the Yamaha MT-07, and powered by the same 689 cc, parallel-twin engine which is tuned to produce 75 bhp of maximum power at 6,500 rpm and 68 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. On the Tenere 700, the state of tune is expected to change, possibly with more low-end grunt and torque for off-road riding on different kinds of terrain. But it's still a prototype and so far, there's no confirmation when Yamaha will introduce the production model of the Yamaha Tenere 700.
