Audi e-tron quattro Teased; Previews the Q6 SUV

You look at the design and you say to yourself, well, that's sport! And that's achieved thanks to the sloping roof and the aerodynamic curves that the body gets. It looks a bit rugged too and that is because of the flared wheel arches and side skirts which employ plastic body cladding.
Up front the e-tron quattro concept comes with a pair of futuristic headlamps which feature the matrix laser OLED technology. According to the people at Audi, the body has been aerodynamically optimized and as a result the drag coefficient stands at just 0.25 which is a best-in-segment figure.

The concept is based on the second generation MLB platform and you since we already told you that what you're looking at is the Q6, it will be slotted between the Q5 and Q7. According to the company, the large lithium-ion battery has been installed between the front and rear axles, below the passenger area, and this has enabled a lower center of gravity and also a more balanced weight distribution.
The battery pack is co-developed with South Korean suppliers LG Chem and Samsung SDI and will give the car a range of 500 km. There are three electric motors, one of them mounted on the front axle while the others sit at the back. It will provide the concept with an all-electric full-time AWD system.
Inside is a different story too as Audi has elaborated a driver-oriented cockpit with virtually no physical buttons and knobs as these have been replaced by the touch-operated displays. We look forward to seeing the car in the flesh next month.
