- The Nozza Grande is a 125 cc Yamaha scooter
- Yamaha may launch a 110 cc version in India based on the Nozza Grande
A new Yamaha 125 cc scooter could be launched at the Auto Expo 2018. While there's been no confirmation yet from Yamaha about any impending launches at the event, the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer is expected to introduce a 125 cc scooter, possibly a new product which is based on the Yamaha Nozza Grande, which is already on sale in select South East Asian markets. The scooter has been spotted testing in India as well, and the new 125 cc Yamaha scooter could well be based on the Nozza Grande. The Auto Expo 2018 is set to commence on February 7, 2018 at the India Expo Mart In Noida.

The Yamaha Nozza Grande is powered by a 124 cc, SOHC, fuel-injected engine making 8 bhp and 9.7 Nm of peak torque. It's still not clear whether Yamaha will introduce the fuel-injected version for India, or use a carburetted engine to keep costs competitive. Either way, the 125 cc scooter segment seems to be seeing a lot of interest from manufacturers and the upcoming 125 cc Yamaha scooter will compete against the likes of the Honda Activa 125, Honda Grazia, Suzuki Access 125 and even the upcoming Aprilia SR 125.
The Yamaha Nozza Grande sold in Vietnam gets a fuel-injected engine, and rides on 12-inch alloy wheels, telescopic front suspension and front disc brake. The India-spec version of the scooter is expected to be showcased at the Auto Expo 2018, followed by a launch in a couple of months. It's still not clear, whether a 125 cc version will be introduced or if India Yamaha decides to introduce a similar scooter with its existing 110 cc scooter engine.
