carandbike Awards 2022: Entry Car of the Year - Tata Punch

Tata's micro-SUV, the Punch has been awarded the Entry Car of the Year award at the carandbike Awards 2022. Positioned between the popular subcompact SUVs and traditional hatchbacks, the Punch went up against Maruti's second-generation Celerio hatchback for the award.
Tata Punch certainly has the SUV look down with Tata not straying far from the HBX concept from 2020 following a family design first introduced with the launch of the Harrier in India. The cabin too is smartly turned out and offers decent levels of space given the Punch's size. The Punch also promises to be a safe buy as well leading the list of cars tested by Global NCAP for crash test protection. The Punch scored a full five stars when it was tested with even child occupant protection at a commendable four stars.

The Punch uses the same naturally aspirated petrol engine as the rest of Tata's small cars. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder unit produces 85bhp and 113Nm of torque. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.
The Punch is available in a choice of five variants each available with an optional package adding in cosmetic elements or additional features for an extra cost. Prices for the Punch range from Rs. 5.68 lakh up to Rs 9.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
