CV Sales October 2021: Ashok Leyland Records 11% Y-o-Y Growth

Ashok Leyland, the home-grown commercial vehicle manufacturer, has released the sales numbers for the month of October 2021. Last month, the company's total volumes stood at 11,079 units as against 9,989 vehicles sold during the same month last year, recording a Year-on-Year (Y-o-Y) growth of 11 per cent. Compared to September 2021, when its total sales (Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles + Light Commercial Vehicles) stood at 9,533 units, the company saw a Month-on-Month (M-o-M) growth of 16.2 per cent last month.

Ashok Leyland's total sales for the domestic market stood at 10,043 units last month
Ashok Leyland's total sales for the domestic market stood at 10,043 units, witnessing a growth of 13 per cent compared to the 8,885 vehicles sold in the corresponding month last year. Compared to the 8,787 units sold in September 2021, Ashok Leyland witnessed an M-o-M growth of 14.2 per cent.
On the other hand, the company's total exports stood at 1036 units in October 2021, and it witnessed a de-growth of 6.5 per cent compared to the 1104 units exported during the same month, in 2020. However, compared to 746 vehicles that were exported in September 2021, the commercial vehicle maker recorded an M-o-M growth of over 38 per cent.

Ashok Leyland's total LCV sales (domestic + exports) in October 2021 stood at 5001 units
The total sales of Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV), which includes trucks and buses, stood at 6,078 units in October 2021, which is 32 per cent growth compared to the 4,558 units sold during the same month in 2020. However, the M&HCV Bus space saw a decline of 17 per cent with just 504 units sold last month compared to 604 units retailed in the corresponding month last year. The light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment saw a decline of 7 per cent last month with 5,001 units retailed, as against 5,401 units sold in January 2020.
