Hyundai Ioniq 6 Captured In Spy Shots

- The Ioniq 6 has broken cover in the US with few changes
- It resembles a Porsche 911 with a swooping back
- This car is also based on the E-GMP platform
Hyundai has made a huge plunge on an electric first future with its new E-GMP platform that was developed in tandem with Canoo. It has already been deployed on the Ioniq 5 EV which is making waves wherever it has been launched and is also driving most of Hyundai's EV sales. While the Ioniq 5 is a compact SUV, Hyundai has been developing a slick sedan using the same platform called the Ioniq 6 and now it has been spotted in the US with a bit of camouflage.
This is not the first time this car has been spotted but this around it has less camouflage and it kind of reminds one of a four-door Porsche 911. The car was earlier seen as the Prophecy concept and hasn't changed much from it. The same happened with the Ioniq 5 which debuted as the concept 45 and it didn't get major changes.

This will be the first electric sedan by Hyundai

This test vehicle has standard side-view mirrors but the car seen before in South Korea had cameras on the side mimicking the prophecy concept that had debuted in 2019. There is also an integration of a third brake light on the spoiler which is attached to the trunk lid.
Unlike the Prophecy concept, you can also see the introduction of standard door handles instead of suicide doors. These door handles are also flush against the body for better aerodynamics. This car is scheduled for sale next year and it will be followed by the Ioniq 7 in 2024 which will be a larger SUV.
Other Hyundai group companies are also using the E-GMP platform like Kia for the EV6, and Genesis for the GV60. So one can expect, something based on the Ioniq 6 to come in the form of a Kia and perhaps even Genesis.
