Hyundai Teases Alcazar Three-Row SUV; Launch In June

- The Hyundai Alcazar will be launched in India in June.
- It is essentially a three-row derivative of the Hyundai Creta.
- It has a 150 mm longer wheelbase than the Hyundai Creta.
The Hyundai Alcazar was to go on sale on April 29 but the launch was put off amidst the rising number of COVID-19 Positive cases. So it got pushed to May since many parts of the nation still remain under lockdown, the company decided to push it even further. Finally, as we reported earlier, with the second wave impact of COVID-19 deteriorating and lesser number of positive cases being reported, the Korean carmaker has decided to launch the Alcazar in June and has teased the upcoming SUV in a rather interesting video.

The Hyundai Venue, Creta, Tucson and Kona Electric formed the 'ALCAZAR' name, stretching over 1 km in length.
So Hyundai has released a new video where we can see its current India SUV line-up drifting and sliding dramatically in the mighty Runn of Kutch. Basically, the SUVs are performing a drill to carve 'Alcazar' on the world's largest desert soil in a bid to welcome the new model. The Hyundai Venue, Creta, Tucson and Kona Electric formed the 'ALCAZAR' name, stretching over 1 km in length. As we reported earlier, Hyundai dealers are also gearing up to start with the pre-bookings of the new Alcazar ahead of its launch.

The Hyundai Alcazar is essentially a three-row derivative of the Hyundai Creta, but the Korean carmaker has made substantial changes in its dimensions to make more room on the inside, adding to its practicality. It has not only grown in length, but also has a 150 mm longer wheelbase. The Hyundai Alcazar will be available with both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine is a 2-litre unit churning out 157 bhp and 191 Nm of torque. The diesel is a 1.5-litre unit that is capable of pushing out 113 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. Both engines will be offered with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
