In fact, it also became the recipient of the 2021 carandbike Off-Roader of the Year Award.
The new Mahindra Thar is built on the company's new platform which has made it bagger and much safer as well considering it has been awarded a 4-star safety rating by the Global NCAP. The SUV comes with an updated design with a lot of modern elements like alloy wheels, and daytime running lights and for the first time a hard-top roof. The Thar also offers a bunch of creature comforts like a touchscreen information system, forward-facing rear seats, automatic air-conditioning and a lot more.
The Thar comes with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine on offer. Both engines are paired with manual and automatic transmissions and come with a host of features and off-roading capability. 4x4 is standard on the Thar.
