Karnataka Man Enters India Book Of Records With Massive Rangoli Of Mahindra Thar

Punith G. R. from Mandya, Karnataka has recently entered the Indian Book of Records for creating a massive rangoli of the Mahindra Thar off-road SUV. Punith broke the record for making the largest rangoli (the art of creating a design or pattern on a surface using powdered limestone, dry rice flour or coloured sand) of a vehicle, and it measures 20 feet x 18 feet. Punit has dedicated his achievement to none other than Anand Mahindra the Chairman of the Mahindra Group.

The second-generation Mahindra Thar was launched in India on October 2, 2020, and has gone on to become a runaway success from the home-grown utility vehicle manufacturer. In fact, the SUV is so much in demand that the company receives over 200 bookings per day, and the Thar currently commands a waiting period of over 5 months. In fact, it also became the recipient of the 2021 carandbike Off-Roader of the Year Award.

The new Mahindra Thar is built on the company's new platform which has made it bagger and much safer as well considering it has been awarded a 4-star safety rating by the Global NCAP. The SUV comes with an updated design with a lot of modern elements like alloy wheels, and daytime running lights and for the first time a hard-top roof. The Thar also offers a bunch of creature comforts like a touchscreen information system, forward-facing rear seats, automatic air-conditioning and a lot more.
The Thar comes with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine on offer. Both engines are paired with manual and automatic transmissions and come with a host of features and off-roading capability. 4x4 is standard on the Thar. The new Mahindra Thar is priced from Rs. 12.10 lakh, going up to Rs. 14.15 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
