Kia Carens Clavis EV Now Available At Rs 12.84 Lakh Under BaaS Plan

- Entry price reduced by Rs 5.15 lakh with BaaS scheme
- Battery subscription charged at Rs 3.3 per km
Kia India has introduced the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme for the Carens Clavis EV to significantly lower the entry price of the electric MPV. This is the first EV from the brand’s stable to be offered with a BaaS scheme.
| Pack | Full Ex-Showroom Price | Price With BaaS | BaaS Plan | Tenure |
| Standard | Rs 17.99 lakh | Rs 12.84 lakh | Rs. 3.3 Per Month | Body: 60 Months Battery: 90 Months |
| Extended | Rs 21.99 lakh | Rs 15.94 lakh |
Under the scheme, the Standard variant’s (42 kWh) effective purchase price drops from Rs 17.99 lakh to Rs 12.84 lakh, translating to a difference of Rs 5.15 lakh. Meanwhile, the Extended variant (51.4 kWh) sees its price reduce from Rs 21.99 lakh to Rs 15.94 lakh, lowering the upfront cost by Rs 6.05 lakh. While Kia has announced BaaS pricing for only two variants so far, the scheme will be available across the entire Kia Carens Clavis EV lineup.

The BaaS plan separates the battery cost from the vehicle purchase price, with customers instead paying a battery usage fee of Rs 3.3 per kilometre. Kia says the move is aimed at making EV ownership more accessible and reducing the upfront cost barrier for buyers considering an electric vehicle.
Under the plan, the Carens Clavis EV ownership package starts with a minimum down payment of Rs 51,520. Buyers can opt for a financing tenure of up to 5 years for the vehicle body and up to 8 years for the battery component. Kia has partnered with multiple financial institutions for the rollout of the scheme.

As mentioned earlier, the Kia Carens Clavis EV is offered with two battery pack options: 42 kWh and the bigger 51.4 kWh. The former has a claimed range of 404 km on a single charge, while the latter is claimed to deliver 490 km (MIDC) range. The smaller battery pack variants churn out 132 bhp, while the larger pack produces 169 bhp. The torque figure stands at 255 Nm for both options.
The electric MPV is offered in 9 variants to choose from, and depending on the trim, both 6 and 7 seat configurations are available.
