MG Motor India Partners With BPCL To Develop EV Charging Station Network Across India


- MG Motor says that the partnership is focused on faster adoption of EVs.

- MG will use BPCL's widespread network to install EV charging stations.
MG Motor India has partnered with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to strengthen the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the country. The company says that the partnership with BPCL is focused on faster adoption for EVs by expanding opportunities for intercity travel as both parties will install EV chargers across highways as well as within cities. MG Motor will also use BPCL's widespread network of fuel stations to install charging stations. Both companies will strategically identify charging sites, garner consumer insights, devise loyalty programs, and create technology to manage charging systems.

BPCL is setting up fast charging corridors across major highways in the country, inter-connecting major cities, and economic centres.

Furthermore, our customers also benefit from the unique 6-way charging ecosystem that makes using an EV every day much easier. Right before the launch of the MG ZS EV in 2020, the company had started installing charging system with AC chargers and DC fast chargers in residential communities and MG showrooms. Even BPCL is setting up fast charging corridors across major highways in the country, inter-connecting major cities, and economic centres, and will have a network of 7000 conveniently located fast charging stations in the country in the next 2-3 years. These fast charging stations will come with a host of customer amenities viz, hygienic washrooms, refreshments and micro ATMs among others.
