With the initiation of the Maharashtra EV Policy, the state is all set to begin a green revolution and this move clearly pushes that agenda. Tata Motors too has been trying to proactively drive the adoption of electric mobility in the country. The carmaker has been supplying its electric passenger cars to several government organisations and institutions as part of the EESL tender the company secured in 2017 to supply 10,000 electric vehicles. Earlier in July 2021, Tata supplied 14 units of the all-electric Xpres-T EVs to Kolkata's Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers. The carmaker is closely working with other Tata Group companies including Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Auto Components, Tata Motors Finance and Croma, to contribute to the faster adoption of EVs in India through its EV ecosystem, which the company calls the "Tata uniEVerse".

The Nexon EV comes with a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery
As for the Tata Nexon EV, it's right now one of the best-selling electric passenger vehicles in India, and it currently holds a commanding market share of nearly 70 per cent in its segment of electric vehicles. As of now, Tata Motors has sold over 6,000 units of the Nexon EV in India. The electric SUV comes with a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that powers a permanent-magnet AC motor that develops 127 bhp and 245 Nm of peak torque. The motor and battery pack are IP 67 certified, and it offers a claimed range of 312 km on a single charge.
