Tata Motors Registers 1 Per Cent Growth In Sales Of Passenger Cars

:Tata Motors announced a growth  in sales of both passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles in the month of October.  The company’s growth was driven by strong sales performance in Pick-up (45%) & ILCVs (7%). The domestic Passenger and Commercial Vehicle Business, recorded a growth of per cent at 48,886 units, in October 2017, compared to October 2016, last year. This is at the back of festive demand across segments, increased positive customer sentiments and introduction of new products.

The Passenger vehicle business recorded a growth of 1 per cent with sales of 16,475 units over October 2016. The company launched three cars in India this year namely the Hexa, Tigor and Nexon and the company has already been doing good numbers on the Tiago hatchback. Cumulative sales growth of passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal (April-Oct 2017) were at 97,892 units, a growth of 10 per cent , compared to 88,976 units, in the same period last fiscal.

The company’s sales from exports stood at 4,311 units in October 2017, a decline of 32%, due to continued drop in TIV in Sri Lanka (by 53%) and Nepal (by 46%).
