Tata Motors Registers A Total Growth Of 21% in July 2018

Tata Motors has released its sale report for the month of July and the automaker has registered a cumulative growth of 21 per cent with 51,896 units compared to 42,775 vehicles sold in July 2017. The carmaker's passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 17,079 units, achieving a growth of 14 per cent over the number of cars sold last year. On the other hand, the carmaker's strong performing commercial vehicle segment grew by 25 per cent in July 2018, with total sales accounting for 34,817 units. The company's sales from exports (CV and PV) in July 2018 stood at 4,971 units, as against the 3,441 units from last year, gaining a growth of 44 per cent.
Tata Motors claims that the company's passenger vehicle sales were driven by strong demand for Tiago, Tigor, Hexa and Nexon. In fact, the company says that the recently launched Nexon AMT has received an overwhelming response and is witnessing good traction in the market. The company's cumulative passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market for this fiscal so far (April-July 2018) is at 70,016 units, a growth of 41 per cent compared to 49,791 units for the same period, last fiscal.
Speaking on the passenger vehicle sales performance in July 2018, Mayank Pareek, President - Passenger Vehicles Business, Tata Motors, said, "Our sales performance continue to grow in July 2018 at 14% on the back of the strong demand of our new generation vehicles - Tiago, Tigor, Hexa and the Nexon. The recently launched Nexon AMT has been received well in the market. We will continue to strive towards driving volumes and increasing our market share as part of our on-going turnaround journey."
Tata Motors' Commercial Vehicles domestic sales also continued to grow in July 2018 at 34,817 units, going up by 25 per cent, compared to the previous year's July sales. The company says that this happened despite the uncertainty amongst customers in the market. Cumulative sales for FY18-19 so far (April-July 2018) stood at 146,459 units, having grown by 57 per cent from last year in July 2017.
