The Tata Nano F-Tronic - Everything You Want to Know

Tata Motors has been working hard on its makeover, and after Zest and Bolt next up is the refurbished Nano line-up for 2015. The latest endeavor is the Nano Twist F-Tronic, which was first showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. It is fitted with an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), a 5-speed gearbox with a mechatronic unit. The AMT system will be sourced from Magnetic Marelli, the suppliers for Maruti Celerio's AMT system.
With the Nano F-Tronic's test mule being spotted quite often, we are convinced that the car may be making its way to dealerships pretty soon. So here's what you can expect from this upcoming car:
Exteriors
The latest Nano AMT spotting suggested the production model of the Nano F-Tronic will sport updated headlamps with chrome surrounds and clear-lens turn blinkers. It might also get new bumpers with repositioned fog-lights and a mesh that appears to be smiling. Both, the headlights and the fog-lights, will get comparatively powerful bulbs this time around.
Moving on to the rear, the presence of a fifth door handle implies that the hatch can be opened. Other than that, the rear bumper also gets the new mesh and covers the entire engine unit and exhaust muffler.
Interiors
The Nano F-Tronic's interiors will be largely inspired by the Nano Twist, except for the faux-wood inserts.
Engine options
The Nano F-Tronic will be powered by the same twin-cylinder 624cc engine that puts out 37bhp and 51Nm of torque except for obviously, the new AMT transmission. Also, it will get a bigger fuel tank with a capacity of 25-litres.
Expected Launch
Reports claim that Tata Motors plans to start shipping the F-Tronic this year only. So expect the 2015 Tata Nano F-Tronic to arrive right after the Zest and Bolt.
