Top 3 Rivals: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

Maruti Suzuki India burst into the compact sedan scene with the Ciaz and since then the car has been a strong seller. Offered as only a petrol variant, the prices for the Ciaz start at Rs. 8.52 lakh to Rs. 11.50 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). The Indo-Japanese carmaker had also launched the Ciaz S, which is a sports variant of the compact sedan based on the top-spec Alpha trim. The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is offered in a total of eight variants across four trims - Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Dimensionally, the sedan measures 4,490 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width, 1,485 mm in height while the wheelbase stands at 2,650 mm. It comes in seven shades - Nexa Blue, Magma Gray, Premium Silver, Dignity Brown, Midnight Black, Sangria Red and Snow White.
Hyundai Verna

The Hyundai Verna is currently the best selling compact sedan in the country and with the facelift the company upped the ante. The Verna comes in both petrol and diesel engine options and both engines also come with an optional automatic transmission. So the Verna does get a turbo-petrol engine with a DCT automatic, which is the sportiest of the lot. Prices for the new Hyundai Verna start at Rs. 9.19 lakh and go up to Rs.15.25 lakh.
Honda City

Honda Cars India launched the new-gen model in the country, which comes with a host of design and styling changes, new features and powerful engine options. The car comes with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC DOHC petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and an optional CVT unit for the petrol version. The City is priced at ₹ 11 lakh to ₹ 14.95 lakh.
