TVS Shows Steady Growth in Two-Wheeler Sales Over Last Year

- The sales for TVS grew by overall 16 per cent in the last one year
- The TVS Jupiter is one of the highest selling two-wheelers of 2016
- The total TVS two-wheeler sales grew by 19.5 per cent
TVS is one of those manufacturers who like to play slow and steady. The company posted an overall growth of 16 per cent. TVS sold 1, 95,937 units in April 2015 and the same increased to 2, 27,096 units in April 2016.
The company though, saw a sharp decline in total exports. In April last year, it exported 32,426 units and in April this year, it exported 28,354 units, a drop of 4,072 units. On the other hand, the company saw its two-wheeler exports grow by 4.8 per cent over the course of last one year. The units exported in April 2015 numbered 23,525 while in April 2016, it exported 24,658 units.
The total two wheeler sales grew by a solid 19.5 per cent. Last year, it sold 1, 86,041 units in April, while this year it sold 2, 22,350 units. Domestically, TVS saw an even further growth of 21.6 per cent with 1, 97,692 units being sold in April 2016 against 1, 62,516 units in April 2015.
Speaking specifically for scooters, TVS registered a growth of 28.3 per cent for the month of April 2016. The total numbers of scooters sold in April 2016 were 63,341 to 49,375 scooters sold in April last year. Commendably, the TVS Jupiter is one of the top 10 highest selling two wheelers of 2015-16.
TVS sold 90,491 units of motorcycles in April 2016 to 74,953 units in April 2015. The motorcycles sales grew by a commendable 20.7 per cent.
TVS' latest launches were the Victor and the Apache RTR 200 4V. TVS is all set to launch the BMW G 310 R, the first ever product to be manufactured under the TVS-BMW partnership.
