Yamaha Begins Vaccination Drive For Employees At Surajpur And Kancheepuram Plants


- The vaccination drive began at both plants on July 31, 2021
- Yamaha aims to achieve 100% vaccination of 1st dose by Aug 15
- The vaccination will be given to employees between 18-44 years
Yamaha Motor India has begun the vaccination drive for employees at its two manufacturing facilities located in Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu respectively. The company has tied up with local hospitals for the same. The Jaypee Hospital will be responsible for vaccinating employees at the Surajpur facility in UP, and the vaccination camp will begin from July 31 to August 6, 2021. Meanwhile, employees at the Kancheepuram plant in Tamil Nadu will be vaccinated with the help of Parvathy Hospital. The vaccination drive will take place between July 31 and August 14, 2021.

A Yamaha employee takes the first jab at the Surajpur facility
Yamaha says the company is aiming to get the first dose to its employees before August 15, 2021. Meanwhile, the second dose will be administered by November 15, 2021. Under this initiative, the two-wheeler maker aims to achieve 100 per cent vaccination at both plants between the age group of 18-44 years. Every vaccinated employee will also get a t-shirt and a 'blue warrior' badge, the company said in a statement. Both plants are following stringent hygiene and safety protocols in the wake of the pandemic.
On the product front, Yamaha recently introduced the FZ-X motorcycle, followed by the Fascino 125 FI Hybrid scooter. The company will soon introduce the updated Yamaha Ray-ZR 125 Hybrid scooter that will come with the Smart-Motor-Generator (SMG) that offers extra push on inclines and at low speeds. The new Ray-ZR 125 Hybrid will go on sale sometime in August this year.
