2022 MG ZS EV India Launch Details Announced

MG Motor India will launch its refreshed version of the brand's flagship electric passenger car model in the country, the 2022 MG ZS EV on March 7, 2022. The MG ZS EV facelift was recently showcased through a few images, showcasing the exterior changes it receives in its 2022 avatar, along with added creature comforts on the inside. The 2022 MG ZS EV will soon roll out of MG Motors' manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, in two trims, with a slightly revised price.

The exterior of the 2022 MG ZS EV features notable changes as the fascia now receives an enclosed grille instead of a deep concave layout, while the charging socket is moved to the left side of the MG logo from behind the MG logo on the grille. The front bumper is redesigned with a sharper design and a wider central air dam with vertical intakes at both ends. The 2022 MG ZS EV will sit on a set of redesigned 17-inch alloy wheels, while the rear receives a new tail-light design, and refreshed bumpers. The London-eye projector headlamps with LED DRLs, LED taillights, roof rails, rear spoiler, ORVMs with side indicators, will be retained from before.

The major changes to the 2022 MG ZS EV are on the inside, as it now gets centre armrest, centre headrest, and rear AC vents.

Inside, the 2022 MG ZS EV receives a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, replacing the older 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The segment-first Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity come as a standard feature. The cabin also receives a thorough shakedown in terms of fresher elements introduced to enhance its feel. And so, it gets refreshed interior, on the lines of the MG Astor, along with an updated instrument cluster. The refreshed ZS EV will also feature centre armrest for the rear seats, individual cup-holders, centre headrest, and rear AC vents. The panoramic sunroof, powered driver's seat, automatic headlamps with wipers, connected car technology, six airbags, hill start/descent control, and electronic stability control will be retained. Also, expect a front camera displaying a 360-degree view.

The updated ZS EV will also come with a set of new 17-inch alloy wheels and new LED taillamps

The 2022 MG ZS EV will be powered by the same 44.5 kWh battery pack that powers a permanent magnet synchronous motor, developing 141 bhp and 353 Nm of peak torque. It has an estimated range of 419km on a single charge. Reports suggest that the 2022 MG ZS EV could feature a larger 50 kWh battery pack, that promises more than 500 km of range on a single charge. This unit was recently introduced in the UK market, with the refreshed MG ZS EV.
