- Tata will also showcase new CVs and the Tigor Sport concept
- As many as 6 new electric vehicles will be showcased at the Tata pavilion
Tata Motors is gearing for a mega showcase at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo, wherein the company will reveal five new models as well as its integrated mobility solutions for the future. Tata has an illustrious line-up that will be targeting the premium mass market segments and includes the X451 hatchback, H5 SUV and the Tigor Sport. All the new models will be sporting the company's new Impact 2.0 design language. The manufacturer put out for first teasers of the new models earlier this month and has now released new sketches of its upcoming cars, giving a more detailed look into the new design.

Tata X451 Hatchback
The new teaser images give a better idea on what the Impact 2.0 design language will look like. What we see are sharp lines all over with minimal curves. The shoulder-line gets a slight drop just below the A-pillar, similar to the Nexon, which then recedes into the taillight cluster. The rear door is sharply cut as well and seems to sit higher that could result in smaller rear windows. The wheel arches are massive and and house massive wheels as well. The rear windscreen is sharply raked with the roofline merging seamlessly, almost like a coupe. Adding a sporty touch is the roof mounted spoiler. The X451 concept also gets what seem like cameras instead of ORVMs and while they won't make it on the production model, they certainly look futuristic.
The Tata X451 premium hatchback will be taking on the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz in the segment. The model will be underpinned by Tata's new AMP modular platform and will be a major departure from the current crop of the company offerings.
(The Tata X451 and H5 Concepts will preview completely new models)
Tata H5 SUV
The other concept to watch out for is the Tata H5, which previews the Harrier and Raptor (internal codenames) premium SUVs from the automaker. Both models will be underpinned by the same chassis, but will be 5-seater and 7-seater models respectively. The teaser images show very strong details on the H5 concept like slim LED headlights, tri-arrow pattern for the fog lamps and a distinctive kink on the C-pillar.The shots further tease a sloping roofline on the H5 concept towards the rear, with the blacked out D-pillar merging into the raked rear windscreen. Could there by certain elements from Jaguar's new SUVs? Perhaps, may be. Much like the X451, massive wheel arches will house massive wheels on this SUV concept, while expect to see sharply design LED taillights.
(Tata's new concepts will be based on the brand's new Impact 2.0 design language)
Tata Tigor Sport Concept
The third passenger vehicle in Tata's concept line-up will be the Tigor Sport. A performance version of the subcompact sedan, the Tigor Sport will get completely new bumpers with massive air-intakes and red accents for the fog lamps. There are projector lamps too with DRLs, while a small honeycomb grille will make it to the side panels along with a black-finished contrast roof. Expect to see a new rear bumper as well with more sporty profile.
(The Tata Tigor Sport Concept is expected to get a turbocharged engine)
While the standard Tata Tigor uses a 1.2-litre NA three-cylinder motor with 84 bhp, the Sport version is expected to use the 1.2-litre petrol engine from the Nexon with turbocharging. Power is likely to be uprated in excess of over 100 bhp and will also get a reworked suspension and braking setup. Also expect to see larger alloy wheels completing the look on the model.
The 14th Auto Expo will be kicking off on February 7, 2018 and the CNB team will be bringing you all the updates from the event. Make sure to keep watching this space for all the action.
