Auto Sales February 2022: Tata Motors Records 47 Per Cent Growth In PV Sales

- Tata Motors recorded overall sales growth of 27 per cent.
- Its PV sales went up by 47 per cent.
- Its CV sales saw an uptick of 11 per cent.
Tata Motors has recorded sales growth of 47 per cent in its passenger vehicles (PV) business selling 39,981 units in February 2022 as compared to 27,225 units sold in the same month a year ago. The company recorded 39 per cent sales growth for petrol- and diesel-powered vehicles selling 37,135 units as compared to 26,733 units sold in the same month last year. As far as electric vehicles sales are concerned, the company has recorded an impressive uptick of 478 per cent selling 2,846 units as compared to 492 units sold a year ago.

Tata Motors' CV sales grew by 11 per cent with volumes of 37,552 units in February 2022.
Sales of commercial vehicles (CV) too went up by 11 per cent selling 37,552 units as against 33,859 units sold a year ago. Its domestic CV sales saw an uptick of 9 per cent selling 33,894 units as compared to 31,141 units in the same month a year ago while the company's CV exports went up by 35 per cent selling 3,658 units as compared to 2,718 units sold in the same month a year ago. Overall, the automaker recorded a growth of 27 per cent selling 73,875 units as compared to 58,366 units sold in the same month a year ago.

Tata Motors has been on a growth trajectory this financial year riding the back of its new launches. In December 2021, the Indian carmaker outperformed Hyundai Motor India to become the second bestselling carmaker in the country and recorded its highest ever passenger vehicle (PV) sales in January 2022 selling 40,777 units. In February 2022, its month-on-month (MoM) growth remained flat.
