Auto Sales June 2022: Honda Cars India Report 4.3% Decline In Domestic Sales

Honda Cars India released its sales figures for the month of June 2022, and the Japanese carmaker reported a sales figure of 10,336 units. Out of this, 7,834 units were sold in the domestic market. The domestic sales figure saw a month-over-month decline of 4.3 per cent, as Honda sold 8,188 units in the month of May. However, the figure saw a 64.3 per cent year-over-year growth. It must be noted though, that the sales figures were still recovering from the global pandemic in June 2021.

However, the supply side challenges including chip shortage continued to affect our production and despatches in June. Unfortunately, this situation still persists and clear signs of recovery are not visible yet.” He further added, “Our latest product offering, the new City e:HEV, continues to draw customers’ attention and interest towards Strong Hybrid technology and its benefits. We believe this self-charging electric hybrid technology will gain strong acceptance in the market and it will pave the way for electrified future”.
Honda also exported 2,502 units in the month of June 2022, a figure with saw 23.1 per cent month-over-month growth. Honda only exported 1,241 units in the month of June 2021, and it managed to export over twice as many cars in June 2022, reporting a 101.6 per cent growth.
